For years, we’ve been collecting these stories in the shadows, searching for souls, spirits, and, yes, even the supernatural. Now, for the first time, we present the ultimate collection of the ghastliest ghost stories around. So kick back, turn out the lights, and tuck in for a little dose of delightful dismay!
Catsburg Country Store
We begin our journey with a rather heady story, finding ourselves at the Catsburg Country Store.
Meandering around the Catsburg, you’ll find the remnants of the train tracks that once ran behind Catsburg. Legend has it that a man was once beheaded by a passing train while walking along the tracks at night. Today, accounts of a mysterious light – like that of an oncoming train – are regularly reported along with sightings of the ghost of the man himself, endlessly scouring the grounds in search of his head.
Congress Plaza Hotel
Shadowy specters still roam the rooms of Chicago’s Congress Plaza Hotel. And with its long history of hosting some of the richest and raunchiest among us, some of its ghostly guests may surprise you.
Don CeSar
Moving right along among the rich and famous, this pink palace on the beach made a name for itself during the Jazz Age, regularly hosting the likes of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Al Capone, Lou Gehrig, and even Franklin D. Roosevelt. And while those big names won’t be found haunting the halls, it has been said that the founder of the Don CeSar can still be seen, floating about, protecting the palace he loved so much.
