Running through New Hampshire, United States, the Conway Scenic Railroad begins at the terminal in historic downtown North Conway in the Mount Washington Valley.

This heritage railway dates back to the 19th century, but wouldn’t take its current form until local businessmen Carrol Reed and Bill Levy partnered with Maine railroad owner Dwight Smith to purchase a long-abandoned rail line running just seven miles from Conway to Intervale. Passenger service started in 1974, and kept running for a decade before the Mountain Division line, the line connecting the Conway Railroad to all major railways, went under.

The Conway Railroad operated on its little isolated seven-mile stretch of track for a decade until 1994, when the owners of the Conway Railroad obtained an operating lease for the former Mountain Division line.

Today, passengers have a wide variety of excursions to choose from. The Valley Train runs south to Conway and west to Bartlett, while the Notch Train travels through the area known as Crawford Notch. Each train features a dining car, open-air cars and a number of restored coaches from the early 20th century.
