Founded in 1997, Maynooth University is the Republic of Ireland’s youngest university. It has two connected campuses: the older, historic one that’s shared with St. Patrick’s College and steeped in history, and the new one, now carrying the art and science departments. Due to the division, MU has a rare distinction of being split between two different time zones. The younger follows Irish Standard Time, while Big Brother—though no more than an hour away— operates on Greenwich Mean Time. So from March through October, scheduling becomes a different kind of challenge. (Students, take heed when choosing Friday classes.)
