Bucharest, Romania
Central University Library
Thirty years after its founding, the University of Bucharest inherited this library which quickly grew from 3,400 volumes to over two million books and periodicals.
Glenorchy, New Zealand | C.1891
Once the smallest library in the Southern Hemisphere, Glenorchy Library is situated in a little town in New Zealand. Though this cute building is no longer the full library, it serves as a reminder of how far the library has come! The town was named after Glen Orchy, a valley in Argyll, Scotland, and the local scenery has been used in a variety of films, including the “Lord of the Rings” series. Books and beautiful scenery? What more could a girl want?!
