The main repository of ice cores in the United States, the lab holds over 17,000 m of ice cores from Antarctica and Greenland for scientific research. The main freezer stays at -36 degrees celsius–so you better bring gloves! Home to million year old ice, researchers can analyze the frozen cargo and reveal information about Earth’s past climate and states and fluctuations. Wondering how the National Ice Core team stand to be in freezing temps all day? Check out our reel below 👇🧊
