This pair of grapes, which look like they belong nowhere other than the LA Lakers stadium, ring from São Paulo’s Municipal Market, known to many as Cantareira or Mercadão. It once served as the capital’s primary food warehouse, though trade has since declined.

In recent years the large space has been revived and become one of the city’s most popular meeting places for residents and tourists. Added conveniences like these public telephones make it easy to phone a friend who’s running late or to confirm your shopping list in a pinch.
