Teatro de Romea
This resilient theater has weathered two destructive fires, and continues to be one of the most important cultural centers throughout Spain.
Behind this fanciful façade is a stage-worthy secret: This theatre is only as old as the invention of the DVD. The original stage from 1911 was torn down in the 1970s, and occupied by a modern plaza. Craving their cultural center, the people of Manzanares rebuilt their old theatre in 1995 including its old exterior—whimsical font included.
