Not quite a park, not quite a museum, Founders Heritage Park is a character-esque village that shares some of Nelson’s history while also showcasing local artisans in the area. From firehouses to running trains, Founders Heritage also boasts open gardens and a variety of shops. This quaint firehouse is a replica of the Nelson Volunteer Fire Brigade Engine House and houses a 1954 fire engine, affectionately named “Little Flick.” Most of the historic collections have been donated by Nelson residents, and the Park is currently under the supervision of city council. Founders Park’s treasure trove of historic buildings is sure to delight those of all ages.
