Welcome to the stage a duo whose creative alchemy has captivated audiences far and wide. Bon Entendeur, composed of Arnaud Bonet and Pierre Della Monica, first emerged onto the scene through the digital realms of Youtube and SoundCloud. Their approach to music production involves blending the evocative voices of French icons with mesmerizing electro melodies, crafting a unique blend of melancholy and modernity. With each mixtape, they embark on a journey through genres as diverse as electro swing, nu-disco, and even remixes of classical French hits, all while paying homage to the cultural luminaries of France. And within their packed schedule of tours and a release of their newest hit Fio Maravilha, they’ve given us a chance to ask them a few quick questions about their craft!
Tell us a little bit about the friend duo behind Bon entendeur. How did you meet? Where are you from? When did you start making music together?
Arnaud and I are from Aix-en-Provence, a small town in the south of France. We met when we were 12 years old at school. We immediately became friends, and we’ve never been apart since. Even when we were very young, we were into music. Arnaud played the piano, and I played the guitar. At the same time, we always listened to a lot of music! In 2012, Arnaud launched Bon Entendeur, which at the time was more like a music blog. We shared our musical favorites daily, and we saw success gradually come our way. Since then, the project has evolved significantly, and today we’re releasing our third album.
Who is Fio Maravilha? And how did they come to be the star of your next release?
“Fio Maravilha” is an iconic song by the Brazilian singer Jorge Ben Jor, released in 1972. It tells the story of Fio Maravilha, a famous Brazilian footballer of the time. The title is a kind of tribute to his talent and popularity. The French singer Nicoletta made a cover of it in 1973, and it’s this version that we decided to remix because we fell in love with its energy. Originally, this track wasn’t even supposed to be on our album! All of this was decided just a few weeks before the final production of “Rivages.” You could say it was a perfect alignment of the stars!
If you could create a 5 song mixtape for those who aren’t able to see you at one of your shows, what Bon Entendeur songs would you line up for folks to have their own listening party?

/If you could have dinner with one of your musical idols who would it be, and better yet where and what would you be eating?
If I could have dinner with one of my musical idols, it would be David Bowie. I’d love to share a meal with him at a restaurant he favored in the heart of London, his iconic city. I’d enjoy hearing wild anecdotes about his career from him. Interestingly, David Bowie’s music often appears in Wes Anderson’s universe.
