From vaccination centers to the Olympic games to world fairs, this building has been home to major world events since its construction in the late 1800s. But that’s not to say the structure hasn’t seen some ups and downs as well: throughout the 20th century smaller sections and wings of the building were subject to demolition and fire. Yet the main building, AKA The Great Hall, has survived all obstacles. Today, the Great Hall still plays an important role to the city of Melbourne and serves as an exam hall for students across the city.
