When we picked the Pio XII Institute and Grand Hotel Rimini to be featured in Accidentally Wes Anderson: Adventures, little did we know that the photographers were childhood friends…
Matteo and Francesco have so graciously shared with us a snippet of the friendship below (their feature in AWAA was also featured in a local newspaper). Take a peek!

/Both of us, Matteo and Francesco, grew up in an authentic neighborhood of Florence: Campo di Marte. Being born and raised in the same neighborhood and on the same street, just a few meters apart, allowed us to build a unique bond that, over time, transformed into a brotherhood. From spending our childhood on the same street, living endless adventures (which often ended with us getting lost and testing our grandmothers’ patience), we went on to attend the same schools and share the same group of friends.
Life gradually took us on different paths, especially when Matteo moved to Milan, but we kept our promise to meet regularly. Our shared passions—electronic music and photography—have been the thread binding our friendship for years. While the world around us becomes increasingly ordinary, we continue to explore, viewing life through lenses, like the ones on our cameras.

/Submitting our photos to @accidentallywesanderson was a romantic gesture, and seeing them both published in the new book felt like a sign—a confirmation that we must keep pursuing that sense of youth which, with every passing day, feels too late to fully live and too soon to let go of.
Those pages are more than just images; they are proof of a bond that transcends time and space. As we face the fear of growing old and becoming ordinary, seeing our work side by side is an act of resistance.
