Chartres, France
Illiers-Combray Station
This French train station is located in a town renamed after the famed writer Marcel Proust's fictional name for the village.
Ha’apiti, French Polynesia | C.1897
In 1897 the Église de la Sainte Famille (Church of the Holy Family) was built on the heart-shaped island of Moorea in French Polynesia. Its construction was made possible by masons from Easter Island, at the request of a group on a Catholic outreach mission in the area.
Emerging from the quaint church, which is still active in the small community, one faces immaculate sandy beaches and a turquoise lagoon filled with stingrays and sharks, which people willingly opt to swim with and feed. Before diving in to play Marco Polo with treacherous friends with-fins, it’s not a bad idea (regardless of your faith) to visit the Église and offer up a prayer.
