Over a century ago, Phileas Fogg circumnavigated the globe over 80 trips around the sun. Taking a page out of his whimsical legacy, we found ourselves on a similarly audacious adventure—in Scotland.

This mining town is small, but mighty! 1.2 billion Troy ounces of silver and 6.2 million ounces of gold have been produced in this municipality. That is almost 6% of the silver mined in the world in the last five centuries!

Hungry after hitting the silver mines? Stop by Mercado Camerino Z. Mendoza, where local traders sell a variety of fruits, vegetables, animal products and traditional food. With its picturesque architecture and shiny history, Mineral del Monte is listed as one of the “Magical Towns” of the Mexican Republic.
