Heng Moh Seng

Registered on 18 March 1975, Heng Moh Seng is a religious goods store at 51 Jalan Besar in the Little India area, where its principal activity is the retail sale of joss paper and other ceremonial products. For more than five decades, the business has specialized in Buddhist and Taoist ritual supplies, from deity statues to custom flags, lanterns, and signboards. It also repairs and refurbishes old statues and writes ancestral tablets by hand. More than 300 businesses in Singapore share its principal activity, but few can claim its tenure on Jalan Besar. Even in a modernizing metropolis, demand for divine intervention supplies remains steady.
